Blair Castle
Fiona and Jeremy’s wedding day was an elegant and emotional celebration held at the magestic Blair Castle. Rachel Sermani (one of the couples favourite singers) sang during their wedding ceremony which was a wonderful surprise for all the guests.
The weather was a dreich day (to use a Scottish expression) so the drawing rooms on the first floor hosted the drinks reception which was unfortunate considering we had a fake lawn fitted in the rear gardens of Blair Castle overlooking the amazing cairngorms.
The staff of Prestige caterers quickly and efficiently transformed the Ballroom from the ceremony into the wedding reception and Planet Flowers worked their wonderful magic. The couple’s inspiration for Planet was that they wanted to create a forest-feel on the tables – I think we can safely say this is what we got!
Planet Flowers also helped create a solution to a problem in advance of the wedding day as Blair Castle had mandatory works that were taking place on the castle roof. Causing the front of the castle to be masked in scaffolding. However with the work of the Blair Castle and Planet Teams the effects were rarely noticed.
After the delicious dinner, cocktails were served in Banvie Hall and out of the distance came a Beating of the Retreat. It was a magical surprise and everyone was outside watching just as the sun was going down.
The day of surprises was not yet over however. The thoughtful groom (of english origins) had decided to surprise his new wife by dawning the kilt along with all of his groomsmen. The gents prepared in the castle and had some whisky to accompany them, then just before the 1st dance they entered the ballroom to a stunned Bride.
A stunning setting for a beautiful wedding for an amazing couple.
